Tiger Woods Wins WGC-Cadillac Championship

Tiger Woods held off the field in the final round of the WGC-Cadillac Championship at Doral for his 76th career PGA Tour win. Wrapping up a dominant 19-under showing at the Blue Monster, Woods fired a 71 on Sunday. Two bogeys on the back nine brought Woods closer to the pack but he still edged Steve Stricker by two strokes."I played well this week and thank you to Steve [Stricker] for the putting lesson," Woods told Steve Sands of Golf Channel after the win, referencing the impromptu putting lesson he received earlier in the week. "It was one of those weeks where I felt pretty good about how I was playing. And I made some putts and pretty much got it rolling."According to Golfweek, Woods had never surrendered a lead of three or more strokes when atop the leaderboard at the start of the final round. That streak continues. Woods picked up his 75th PGA win at Torrey Pines in January.

"I don't want it to be as good. That was never the intent," Woods told reporters on Saturday, via Reuters. "I want it to be better."With two PGA wins to his credit already in the 2013 season, Woods is positioning himself for a big year. His chase for Jack Nicklaus' record of 18 career majors resumes in April at the Masters. Woods won his 14th major at the U.S. Open in 2008 but has faced high-profile problems on and off the course in the years since.
"I still think he can do it," Nicklaus said earlier this month at the Honda Classic. "But that said, he has still got to do it. He hasn't won one in five years. He had better get with it if he's going to."
With two wins in three PGA Tour starts in 2013, Woods appears to be on course again.  !
Congrats to him!
