Messi's Golden Boot To Cost $US5m

A solid gold replica of Lionel Messi's left foot could fetch over $US5 million when it goes on sale this week.

Created by Japanese jewellery company Ginza Tanaka, 'The Golden Foot', a 25 kilogram cast of the 25-year-old's lethal left foot, was produced to commemorate Messi's record-breaking haul of 91 goals scored during 2012.
The cast measures 25 centimetres high, 28 centimetres wide and 16 centimetres deep, is attached to a gold stand which includes Messi's autograph and is displayed on a marble and wood base.
The replica it is limited to a production run of one and is priced at $US5,250,000.
Around 50 golden foot plates of Messi's left is also on sale for an approximate price of $US94,500 per plate, while 100 half-size versions of Messi's foot cast are on sale for $US42,000 each.
Proceeds from the sales will go towards the victims of the earthquake and tsunami that hit Japan in March 2011.

Inter Milan Do Not Fear Bale

Inter Milan defender Juan insists his team do not fear Tottenham star Gareth Bale ahead of their Europa League clash.

Inter travel to White Hart Lane on Thursday to face the man who scored a Champions League hat-trick against them at the San Siro three years ago.
Bale is a much-improved player since then, having already scored 24 goals for club and country this season.
And while Juan has nothing but respect for his opponent, the 21-year-old Brazil international is feeling confident the Serie A side can impress in London.
"He is a great player," said Juan, quoted in the Daily Star.
"He is doing so well but me and my team don't fear anyone. I believe we can play our football and do well."

David Luiz Targets Europa Success

Chelsea defender David Luiz believes the squad are desperate to win the Europa League this season.

The west London club dropped into the competition in December when they finished third in their Champions League group behind Juventus and Shakhtar Donetsk.But Luiz insists the Chelsea players have put that disappointment behind them and are looking for success in Europe for the second year running.
