Paris St Germain striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic believes Wayne Rooney should join the French club if he decides it is time to leave Manchester United.

United are adamant that Rooney is not for sale, and plan to offer him a new contract, while PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi insists there has been no approach for the England international.
However Sweden international Ibrahimovic claims PSG would be the obvious choice of club if the 27-year-old ever departs Old Trafford.
Ibrahimovic said of Rooney: "If he wants to be part of the best project in football then there is only one club to sign for.
"Only he knows the decision he is going to make in the summer but the project we are trying to build here is clear.
"We are not content with being the dominant force in France, we want to be the top club in Europe as well.
"I can understand why the owners are interested in Rooney - he is in the top 10 of strikers in Europe."

PSG Deny Link To Rooney

Wayne Rooney: Linked with summer PSG move

Paris St Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has admitted his admiration for Wayne Rooney, but the French club have not made an approach for the Manchester United striker.

Rooney's absence from the United side for last month's Champions League quarter-final second leg against Real Madrid sparked suggestions the England international could leave Old Trafford in the summer

Manager Sir Alex Ferguson quickly poured cold water on the prospect but it did not stop rumours of Rooney's departure, with PSG one of the few clubs who could match his ambitions and wages.
"He is a great player, he is one of the best strikers in the world," Al-Khelaifi told Sky Sports News.

"I think everybody would like to have him but, if you want to talk about the fact, we didn't approach him."

Messi and Mascherano Hit with Injuries

Lionel Messi: Limped off after scoring against Bayern

Barcelona were left sweating on the fitness of Lionel Messi while Javier Mascherano was ruled out for six weeks after the Argentina duo were forced off with injuries during Tuesday night's Champions League draw with Paris St Germain.

Messi was replaced at half-time at the Parc des Princes after holding his right hamstring and he will undergo further tests tomorrow to determine the extent of the problem, Barca announced on their website.
The Catalan giants will be hoping it is nothing serious with the quarter-final second leg against PSG coming next week.
The 25-year-old, who at the weekend
became the first player to score against every other side in the Spanish top flight in successive matches after netting for the 19th consecutive league game, had put Barca ahead against PSG on Tuesday night in the 38th minute before the French outfit battled back for a 2-2 draw.

Photos Of Manchester United's Trip To London For F.A Cup Clash

Roll up: Robin van Persie and his Manchester United team-mates took the journey to London

Manchester United kept their season on track on Easter Sunday by taking the train down to London ahead of their FA Cup quarter-final showdown against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge — but Robin van Persie says it will not be a great game of football because the side are too exhausted by their schedule.
The United squad boarded the train from Piccadilly and Wilmslow stations to London Euston and will stay the night in London before tomorrow’s 12.30 kick-off.
Rio Ferdinand appeared to have shaken off the back injury that controversially prevented him from playing for England in their two  World Cup qualifiers during the international break and boarded the  train with the rest of the squad.More photos below

Messi Creates History As Barca Draw At Celta

Lionel Messi scored his 19th consecutive league goal on Saturday setting another La Liga record as Barcelona drew 2-2 at relegation-threatened Celta Vigo.
The Argentine's 73rd minute strike -- his 29th in 19 league matches -- makes him the first player in the history of Spanish football to score against every other league opponent in succession.
"It is a unheard of record that no one has ever achieved. This shows how great this player is," said Barcelona assistant coach Jordi Roura.
Messi's second-half strike gave the Catalans the lead for the first time in the match, after they had gone behind to a Natxo Insa goal in the 38th minute.
The visitors were back on level terms five minutes later thanks to a Cristian Tello strike and when Messi slotted home with 17 minutes remaining Barcelona looked odds-on for all three points.
But the home side had other ideas and with two minutes remaining found an equalizer through Borja Oubina.
Real Madrid failed to capitalize on their rivals slip up, drawing 1-1 at Zaragoza.

Cech posted on his personal website: "We are only at half-time in this battle and it is within our power to progress.

Nuri Sahin Slams Liverpool Boss

Former Liverpool midfielder Nuri Sahin has hit out at former boss Brendan Rodgers.
The Turkey star made the move to Anfield on a season-long loan from Real Madrid last summer but failed to make an impression.
Sahin, who is currently back at former Borussia Dortmund on loan, made only 12 appearances for Liverpool before the deal was terminated in January.
And despite admitting he was proud to have represented the Reds, he remains frustrated by his treatment by Rodgers, who he claims played him out of position.
